Welcome to The Women's Well
Welcome to
The Women’s Well
"A group of women can constellate a Mother morphic field when we gather together in a sacred circle. We create a 'temenos,' which means 'sanctuary' in Greek. In a women's circle, every woman in the circle is herself and an aspect of every other woman there as well. There is no vertical hierarchy in a circle, and when a circle is a temenos, it is a safe place to tell the truth of our own feelings, perceptions, and experiences.."
Jean Shinoda Bolen
Why 'Women's Well'
We could point out that women and water have a deep connection in both history and mythology in many countries. We could explain about bodies of water being revered and regarded as sacred by cultures around the world for its life-giving nourishment, and that women are particularly linked to sacred water in its many natural forms. And that historically, bodies of water have always been referred to as female for all the varied forms and moods, mystery and depth.
But really, we’d like you to imagine women walking to the well to collect water, greeting each other, talking, supporting each other, laughing, crying, wailing, singing, dancing, and the connection, trust, and safety that community creates with each other. We’d like you to imagine the thirst-quenching water, and the pure relief of tending to that parched feeling of longing to be seen and heard; for a sense of belonging and acceptance; for being held just as you are, in the moment, and knowing that whatever you bring to the Well is okay.

What to Expect
We hold our circles on the first Saturday of the month (there will be no circles in January). Our intention is to form a closed circle/s which engenders strong bonds of sisterhood, trust, and safety.
When you arrive at The Women’s Well gathering you can expect to be greeted with warmth and acceptance, invited to share a cup of tea, and to sit in sacred circle.
We will call ourselves back from the busy world, and time will be given to share what needs to be shared. Sharing within the space of sacred circle is supported but it is not in any way obligatory – communion in silence is also sacred. Know too that we share with the agreement that “what’s said in circle, stays in circle”…we hold each other in trust, respect and confidentiality.
Our monthly circle will usually incorporate some type of practise – a ritual art, wisdom in a specific field, a guided journey or meditation. These offerings are an inspiring mix of nourishment and fun, as well as being poignant and meaningful. In summary, our key circle principles are:
~ Create a sacred space ~ Everyone’s voice is heard ~ Speak and listen from the heart ~ Listen with discernment instead of judgment ~ Speak from your own experience ~ Hold in confidence what is shared in confidence ~ Use silence for reflection, meditation, or prayer.
Teas and snacks will be offered.
Please note: The Women’s Well circles are NOT religious gatherings. Every woman brings her own spiritual path with her, and all women, no matter their beliefs, are welcome.
